I really had high hopes for Their Virgin by Josi Beck. Especially after having had read Dirty Deeds, which I loved. But there was something about the storyline that got under my skin and it had nothing to do with the fact that twin brothers wanting the same girl. Isabella was what I would have expected from a girl who spends her time reading books, but nothing like the virgin girl you'd expect - she was outspoken on her likes, confident in her abilities, and yet, when it came to intimacy, she was a conundrum that I didn't know what to make of it. Her reactions were nothing like I would expect. Logan from the way he was introduced, I honestly thought he was older, and his ability to dominate a situation just solidified that though, yet nothing surprised me more when I found out his real age.
I enjoy the instant love stories; I happen to believe in them, yet there was something in the way that it was told that left me with more questions than not. If the twins were Isabella's neightbour, how is it that the lemonade scene is the first time they meet? Especially considering Isabella often reads outside. The story had such potential and reading the blurb had piqued my interest and I really wanted to love it, but it fell short for me. Don't get me wrong, there were many strong points but as a whole, Their Virgin by Josi Beck wasn't enough. However, I look forward to reading more by her in the future.
