Dark Master by Shana Vanterpool
Master was dark, dark, dark.
His touch.
His love.
His anger.
And soon, so was I.
Miya Reemond fell in love without knowing who Jaxon Damon really was. When she finds out that he’s a dominant in the alluring and dangerous world of BDSM, she wants nothing more than to be his submissive. Clouded by lust and obsession, she falls head first into the intoxicating and erotic lifestyle. She soon learns that love isn't easy, especially when it relies on her submission. Jax doesn’t know or do love, he only understands pain. Miya immediately turns his world upside down. She wants his heart, his good. But there isn’t any good left in him to give her.
Love doesn’t exist in his world.
She’s never had it.
Will they embrace the darkness, or will it swallow them both?
Book one in the Dark Masters Series is an erotic and sordid look into the tempting world of sexual dominance, submission, and love.
**This is an erotic BDSM romance. Not intended for readers under 18. Contains dark sexual content and a taboo romance.**

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
First off, let me come out and admit that i chose this book for two reasons:
1- dark erotic romance.
2- BDSM.
Until i looked over my previous reads, i wasn't aware that i had read any previous novels by Shana Vanterpool, but i had. Why i didn't recognie that i read her books in the past? Because Dark Master and Under The Peaches are as different as night and day. Now, this latest book was all kinds of wrongs. Heck, it made me think of Sylvain Reynard's Gabriel series, Gemma James' The Devil's Kiss series and even Shannon Youngblood's Trapped all mixed into one while having a very different spin to any of these books.
Dark Master was nothing like i could have expected - it deals with two broken people whose pasts are horrible and even though they tried to make the best of what they had, it still scarred them in so many ways. Jax may be dominant, but it doesn't change the fact that no matter his age, he still has a lot to learn - especially the difference between dominance and control. As for Miya, no matter how strong she is or how well she adapted to the lifestyle, she goes to prove what it means to do you research on what being a submissive really means before you go in half blind.
This story is neither pretty nor covered with pink colored glasses. It's dark and disturbing, which made for a very interesting read. A read that i'm not sure i'll forget soon and that i'll look forward almost impatiently for the next instalment.
