Blood Red Rose by Fawn Bailey

Trigger warning: Captive victim, Stockholm syndrome, kidnapping, abuse.
Stolen. Kidnapped. Taken.
He snatched me off the street, ending my dream of becoming a dancer.
Now, I'm locked away in a mansion with girls who've met the same fate.
My captor is always rough, rarely kind.
He punishes me for every little mistake.
He's training me. Preparing me. Getting me ready.
Slowly, my body is starting to break. Obey. Bend to his will.
Time's ticking. My body is learning to submit.
I've almost stopped fighting. Almost given in.
Still, the promise of something darker hangs in the air.
The real monster is lurking.
And soon, he will come for me.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
this
book was interesting and different - i also didn't know what i was
expecting when i started reading Blood Red Rose from Fawn Bailey. Let's
not forget that i read the prequel before getting into this book, so i
knew who Harlow was and why she was taken in the first place.
This
is the first instalment in the Rose and Thorn series that is also a
full length and is on the darker side delving into the Stockholm
Syndrome and women being trained to be the perfect slave.
It
was a quick story that happened quickly from the moment that Harlow was
taken and her feelings for her captors developed rather fast after the
beginning of her training. I was captivated by how Harlow never lost her
fiery nature no matter what she's endured. The fact that this girl
never lost hope of getting back home or of getting back to her dreams of
dancing.
For
his part, 'Thorn' is secretive. Mysterious. Alpha to the max and the
man to truly look out for. The real question is just how Harlow will
affect him in the long run and just how her Stockholm Syndrome will
influence her future relationships.
I
liked this book, the story line and can't wait for the next instalment
to find out what's to happen to this little dancer and her captor.
