Joe has decided to confront the girl of his dreams. There is a little problem though, if he is rejected, it might result in the total annihilation of our planet.

This is the fourth short novel i've read by this author - so by now, i knew what to expect when it came to her stories - something short and just enough to intrigue you but not enough to really make a connection with the characters. Which, really, is a bit sad because while Elevator scared me a bit, Whisky made me laugh. I kept seeing Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory without the insane genius status and aversion to women.

So here's a brief over view of what this story is about, because in a way, the blurb or other reviews don't do it justice:

We have a 'boy', Joe, who has had a huge crush on this girl that he keeps noticing from afar. Like we all do, he has quite a few personalities that protect him, some that encourage him to make his feelings known, another who wants to protect him so doesn't want Joe to put himself out there, and then you have the third, which was my favorite because he was hilarious. This third voice is all military and all about Joe's physical safety and in a way encourages Joe's 'outlandish' out of this world thoughts - think Star Trek and Star Wars wrapped into one.

I wish i could say more about this story, but i won't because otherwise i'll simply ruin the story because of the fact that it's that short. In a way, many will misunderstand Joe, but i understand him because i'm part nerd too, so i speak the language fluently. What i wish, once more, is that this story was a bit longer so that we can really get a better idea on who this 'boy' is and whether or not he has other beings in him or it's his personality that lets him deal with life events that he simply doesn't understand.

While this author has some really good premises for her stories, i can only hope that in the future she gets a chance to develop them and expand on the description of the scenes.
